Stains and Peanut went public Jan.17, 2009 on Animal Planet’s “It’s Me or the Dog” and were instantly a hit on the series. They work great as a team together even though Stains is a massive 80 pounds compared to the tiny 5 pound Peanut. Stains is an Australian Shepherd, large for his breed, nearly double the size of typical Aussies.
We are trying to watch his weight as he gets older but as you can see he is always quite focused on his food. But hey, we all seem to have that problem. Peanut is a tiny Pomeranian but do think for one minute he realizes his size. Victoria Stillwell had her hands full when she came to our house. She worked wonders with our dogs and we are so grateful.

After the airing of the now famous cupcake scene on “It’s Me or the Dog” the E Channel show “The Soup”, hosted by Joel McHale launched Stains into the spotlight. This little clip eventually engulfed the internet with many other modified versions in just a few days with millions of viewer hits on Youtube and at least 250 other websites combined. Just google “Stains Cupcake Dog”, you will be shocked.
The numbers are still rising. Stains just recently appeared in person on “The Soup”, winning the coveted “Entertainer of the Year Award”. The grand prize was a plate of specialty dog cupcakes which Stain’s thoroughly enjoyed. He had a great time on set taking pictures with the cast, crew and audience. To him it’s just another day as a dog.
It has not gone to his head yet. We love and care for all animals and appreciate all of the outpouring, kindness and attention ours are getting, but please do not forget the many others that are abandoned, abused and left to rescue shelters.
